Edgewood Restaurant @ Edgewood Tahoe has good food and great views. It's one of the higher-end restaurants in town and is probably booked up for this weekend by now (as I imagine many places are), but it's worth a shot. I also like the patio at Riva Grill. More casual than Edgewood and not as good a view, but still a staple.

Palisades/Squaw is great, but the parking lot does fill up so you want to make sure you leave with plenty of time. There will be significant traffic between Tahoe City and the mountain pretty much every weekend. But if you don't make it into the Squaw lots, you can always try for Alpine, as its right next door. Pretty much any north Tahoe/ Truckee local knows you aren’t going to shred palisades on a big storm day besides a few lifts.
